A vulnerability was found in Sun iPlanet Messaging Server Messenger Express (Messaging Software) (the affected version unknown) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function (css). The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Sun iPlanet Messaging Server Messenger Express allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script via the expression Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) function, as demonstrated by setting the width style for an IMG element. NOTE: this issue might be related to CVE-2006-5486, however due to the vagueness of the initial advisory and different researchers, it has been assigned a new CVE.
