Details
A vulnerability has been found in SuiteCRM up to 7.14.7/8.9.0 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component Related Module. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a authorization vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-863. The product performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action, but it does not correctly perform the check. This allows attackers to bypass intended access restrictions. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Versions 7.14.7 and prior, 8.0.0-beta.1 through 8.9.0 allow a low-privileged user with a restrictive role to view and create work items through the Resource Calendar and project screens, even when the related modules (Projects, Project Tasks, Tasks, Leads, Accounts, Meetings, Calls) are explicitly set to Disabled/None in Role Management. This indicates inconsistent ACL/RBAC enforcement across modules and views, resulting in unauthorized data exposure and modification. This issue is fixed in versions 7.14.8 and 8.9.1.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2025-64490 since 11/05/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
Upgrading to version 7.14.8 or 8.9.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at EUVD (EUVD-2025-38348) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2025-2516). VulDB is the best source for vulnerability data and more expert information about this specific topic.
