A vulnerability was found in Cisco Secure Desktop up to 3.1.1.44. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component Installation. The installation of Cisco Secure Desktop (CSD) before 3.1.1.45 uses insecure default permissions (all users full control) for the CSD directory and its parent directory, which allow local users to gain privileges by replacing CSD executables, aka "Local Privilege Escalation".
The bug was discovered 10/04/2006. The weakness was published 11/08/2006 by titon with Bastard Labs (Website). The advisory is available at cisco.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-5808 since 11/08/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
