The installation of Cisco Secure Desktop (CSD) before 3.1.1.45 uses insecure default permissions (all users full control) for the CSD directory and its parent directory, which allow local users to gain privileges by replacing CSD executables, aka "Local Privilege Escalation".

The bug was discovered 10/04/2006. The weakness was published 11/08/2006 by titon with Bastard Labs (Website). The advisory is available at cisco.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-5808 since 11/08/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
