A vulnerability was found in TG8 Firewall (version now known). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file /data/. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a file information disclosure vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-538. The product places sensitive information into files or directories that are accessible to actors who are allowed to have access to the files, but not to the sensitive information. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
TG8 Firewall exposes a directory such as /data/ over HTTP without authentication. This directory stores credential files for previously logged-in users. A remote unauthenticated attacker can enumerate and download files within the directory to obtain valid account usernames and passwords, leading to loss of confidentiality and further unauthorized access.
The weakness was presented by Firewall. The advisory is shared for download at ssd-disclosure.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2021-4471 since 11/14/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
