A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in iWonder Designs Storystream 0.4.0.0. This issue affects an unknown function of the file mysql.php. The manipulation of the argument baseDir with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. Multiple PHP remote file inclusion vulnerabilities in iWonder Designs Storystream 0.4.0.0 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the baseDir parameter to (1) mysql.php and (2) mysqli.php in include/classes/pear/DB/.
The weakness was disclosed 11/14/2006 by v1per-haCker (Website). The advisory is shared at marc.theaimsgroup.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-5893 since 11/14/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by v1per-haCker and been published before and not just after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as functional. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 2 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:mysql.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
