A vulnerability was found in DreamFactory (version now known) and classified as critical. This issue affects the function saveZipFile. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. DreamFactory saveZipFile Command Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of DreamFactory. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the implementation of the saveZipFile method. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the service account. Was ZDI-CAN-26589.
