A vulnerability was found in Pmos Helpdesk 2.4 and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the file ticketview.php. The manipulation of the argument email with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in (a) PMOS Help Desk 2.4, formerly (b) InverseFlow Help Desk 2.31 and also sold as (c) Ace Helpdesk 2.31, allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) id or email parameter to ticketview.php, or (2) the email parameter to ticket.php.
The weakness was published 11/22/2006 by sweet-devil, ViP HaCkEr and HaCkEr sUn (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-6158 since 11/28/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
