Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.4.6 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function da9063_check_xvp_constraints of the component regulator. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: da9063: fix null pointer deref with partial DT config When some of the da9063 regulators do not have corresponding DT nodes a null pointer dereference occurs on boot because such regulators have no init_data causing the pointers calculated in da9063_check_xvp_constraints() to be invalid. Do not dereference them in this case.
The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2023-53787 since 12/09/2025. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
