Details
A vulnerability was found in Barracuda RMM. It has been rated as very critical. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component Service Center. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a absolute path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-36. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize absolute path sequences such as "/abs/path" that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Barracuda Service Center, as implemented in the RMM solution, in versions prior to 2025.1.1, does not verify the URL defined in an attacker-controlled WSDL that is later loaded by the application. This can lead to arbitrary file write and remote code execution via webshell upload.
The weakness was shared by Piotr Bazydlo. The advisory is shared at download.mw-rmm.barracudamsp.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2025-34392 since 04/15/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 12/23/2025). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 2025.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at EUVD (EUVD-2025-202447). Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
