Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Meatmeet App on Android (version now known). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the component Secure Boot Feature. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-287. When an actor claims to have a given identity, the product does not prove or insufficiently proves that the claim is correct. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The ESP32 system on a chip (SoC) that powers the Meatmeet basestation device was found to lack Secure Boot. The Secure Boot feature ensures that only authenticated software can execute on the device. The Secure Boot process forms a chain of trust by verifying all mutable software entities involved in the Application Startup Flow. As a result, an attacker with physical access to the device can flash modified firmware to the device, resulting in the execution of malicious code upon startup.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2025-65829 since 11/18/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally.
