CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.1.158/6.6.118/6.12.60/6.17.10. Affected by this issue is the function gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): check actual_length before accessing header The driver expects to receive a struct gs_host_frame in gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(). Use struct_group to describe the header of the struct gs_host_frame and check that we have at least received the header before accessing any members of it. To resubmit the URB, do not dereference the pointer chain "dev->parent->hf_size_rx" but use "parent->hf_size_rx" instead. Since "urb->context" contains "parent", it is always defined, while "dev" is not defined if the URB it too short.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2025-68343 since 12/16/2025. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 279641 (Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2025-68343), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

Upgrading to version 6.1.159, 6.6.119, 6.12.61 or 6.17.11 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 18cbce43363c9f84b90a92d57df341155eee0697/3433680b759646efcacc64fe36aa2e51ae34b8f0/616eee3e895b8ca0028163fcb1dce5e3e9dea322/f31693dc3a584c0ad3937e857b59dbc1a7ed2b87/6fe9f3279f7d2518439a7962c5870c6e9ecbadcf is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (279641), EUVD (EUVD-2025-204798) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2025-2915). Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
