Details
A vulnerability has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.3.1 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function of_node_put of the component ASoC. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a reference count vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-911. The product uses a reference count to manage a resource, but it does not update or incorrectly updates the reference count. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: mediatek: common: Fix refcount leak in parse_dai_link_info Add missing of_node_put()s before the returns to balance of_node_get()s and of_node_put()s, which may get unbalanced in case the for loop 'for_each_available_child_of_node' returns early.
The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2023-54075 since 12/24/2025. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 280017 (Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2023-54075), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
