Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in jsish 2.0. Affected by this issue is the function iterCmd of the component OP_NEXT Opcode Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a type confusion vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-843. The product allocates or initializes a resource such as a pointer, object, or variable using one type, but it later accesses that resource using a type that is incompatible with the original type. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A type confusion in jsish 2.0 allows incorrect control flow during execution of the OP_NEXT opcode. When an “instanceof” expression uses an array element access as the left-hand operand inside a for-in loop, the instructions implementation leaves an additional array reference on the stack rather than consuming it during OP_INSTANCEOF. As a result, OP_NEXT interprets the array as an iterator object and reads the iterCmd function pointer from an invalid structure, potentially causing a crash or enabling code execution depending on heap layout.
