Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in ImageMagick up to 7.1.2-11. This affects an unknown code block of the component MVG Image Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a recursion vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-674. The product does not properly control the amount of recursion that takes place, consuming excessive resources, such as allocated memory or the program stack. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to version 7.1.2-12, Magick fails to check for circular references between two MVGs, leading to a stack overflow. This is a DoS vulnerability, and any situation that allows reading the mvg file will be affected. Version 7.1.2-12 fixes the issue.
