A vulnerability was found in Cisco CallManager (Unified Communication Software) (the affected version unknown) and classified as problematic. Cisco CallManager 5.1.1.3000-5 does not verify the Digest authentication header URI against the Request URI in SIP messages, which allows remote attackers to use sniffed Digest authentication credentials to call arbitrary telephone numbers or spoof caller ID (aka "toll fraud and authentication forward attack").
The weakness was presented 10/18/2007 by Humberto J. Abdelnur Radu State with Olivier Festor (Website). The advisory is available at lists.grok.org.uk. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-5468 since 10/15/2007. The attack needs to be done within the local network. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
