A vulnerability was found in Vivotek IP7137 0200a and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function of the component HTTP Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Vivotek IP7137 camera with firmware version 0200a is vulnerable to path traversal. It is possible for an authenticated attacker to access resources beyond webroot directory using a direct HTTP request. Due to CVE-2025-66050, a password for administration panel is not set by default. The vendor has not replied to the CNA. Possibly all firmware versions are affected. Since the product has met End-Of-Life phase, a fix is not expected to be released.
The weakness was disclosed by Szymon Paszun. The advisory is shared at cert.pl. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2025-66051 since 11/21/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are required for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
