Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Lodash up to 4.17.22. Affected by this issue is the function _.unset/_.omit of the component Paths Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a prototype pollution vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-1321. The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Lodash versions 4.0.0 through 4.17.22 are vulnerable to prototype pollution in the _.unset and _.omit functions. An attacker can pass crafted paths which cause Lodash to delete methods from global prototypes. The issue permits deletion of properties but does not allow overwriting their original behavior. This issue is patched on 4.17.23
The weakness was released by Lukas Euler and Jordan Harband as GHSA-xxjr-mmjv-4gpg. The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2025-13465 since 11/20/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.
