Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.18.6/6.19-rc5. It has been classified as critical. This affects the function kvm_pch_pic_destroy of the component LoongArch. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: KVM: Fix kvm_device leak in kvm_pch_pic_destroy() In kvm_ioctl_create_device(), kvm_device has allocated memory, kvm_device->destroy() seems to be supposed to free its kvm_device struct, but kvm_pch_pic_destroy() is not currently doing this, that would lead to a memory leak. So, fix it.
