Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.18.6/6.19-rc5. Affected by this issue is the function kvm_eiointc_destroy of the component LoongArch. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: KVM: Fix kvm_device leak in kvm_eiointc_destroy() In kvm_ioctl_create_device(), kvm_device has allocated memory, kvm_device->destroy() seems to be supposed to free its kvm_device struct, but kvm_eiointc_destroy() is not currently doing this, that would lead to a memory leak. So, fix it.
The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-23029 since 01/13/2026. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
