A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.121/6.12.67/6.18.7/6.19-rc6 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function spinlock_flags of the component regmap. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regmap: Fix race condition in hwspinlock irqsave routine Previously, the address of the shared member '&map->spinlock_flags' was passed directly to 'hwspin_lock_timeout_irqsave'. This creates a race condition where multiple contexts contending for the lock could overwrite the shared flags variable, potentially corrupting the state for the current lock owner. Fix this by using a local stack variable 'flags' to store the IRQ state temporarily.

The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
