A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Conti FTPServer 1.0 Build 2.8. Affected is an unknown code block. The manipulation of the argument filename with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in Conti FTPServer 1.0 Build 2.8 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files and list arbitrary directories via a .. (dot dot) in a filename argument.
