Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Flexi Product Slider and Grid for WooCommerce Plugin up to 1.0.5 on WordPress. This vulnerability affects the function Attribute. The manipulation of the argument theme with an unknown input leads to a path equivalence vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-51. The product accepts path input in the form of multiple internal slash ('/multiple//internal/slash/') without appropriate validation, which can lead to ambiguous path resolution and allow an attacker to traverse the file system to unintended locations or access arbitrary files. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The Flexi Product Slider and Grid for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.5 via the `flexipsg_carousel` shortcode. This is due to the `theme` parameter being directly concatenated into a file path without proper sanitization or validation, allowing directory traversal. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to include and execute arbitrary PHP files on the server via the `theme` parameter granted they can create posts with shortcodes.
