CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Vaelsys VaelsysV4 up to 4.1.0.20201125 (Video Surveillance Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file /tree/tree_server.php of the component Web interface. The manipulation of the argument xajaxargs with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The weakness was presented 03/20/2026. The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-2952. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1202 by the MITRE ATT&CK project. The advisory points out:

A command injection vulnerability was identified in Vifence3/VaelsysV4 web interface within the execute_DataObjectProc function in /grid/vgrid_server.php. The handler processes the xajaxargs parameter without sufficient sanitization, enabling attackers to inject arbitrary operating system commands. Successful exploitation allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the web server process user www-data. While this user is non-privileged and direct full system compromise is unlikely without additional privilege-escalation exploits, the vulnerability can still be leveraged to potentially access or exfiltrate sensitive information and to modify the web interface or application behavior for malicious purposes. Exploitation of this vulnerability requires only network access to the Vaelsys web interface and a valid PHP session identifier. Authentication is not required, provided the session is active and correctly formatted, as can be obtained from the application login interface.

The exploit is available at github.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. By approaching the search of inurl:tree/tree_server.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.

Upgrading to version 4.2.0.20201125 eliminates this vulnerability. Update via device-integrated update mechanism. Patch available through manual or automatic update checks.
