Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in exiftool up to 13.49 on macOS. Affected by this issue is the function SetMacOSTags of the file lib/Image/ExifTool/MacOS.pm of the component PNG File Parser. The manipulation of the argument DateTimeOriginal with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
