Details
A vulnerability was found in Elastic Kibana up to 9.3.0. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the component Workflows. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper neutralization of special elements used in a template engine vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-1336. The product uses a template engine to insert or process externally-influenced input, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements or syntax that can be interpreted as template expressions or other code directives when processed by the engine. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements Used in a Template Engine (CWE-1336) exists in Workflows in Kibana which could allow an attacker to read arbitrary files from the Kibana server filesystem, and perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via Code Injection (CAPEC-242). This requires an authenticated user who has the workflowsManagement:executeWorkflow privilege.
