Details
A vulnerability was found in EV2GO (version unknown). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown function of the component WebSocket Endpoint. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a missing authentication vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-306. The product does not perform any authentication for functionality that requires a provable user identity or consumes a significant amount of resources. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
WebSocket endpoints lack proper authentication mechanisms, enabling attackers to perform unauthorized station impersonation and manipulate data sent to the backend. An unauthenticated attacker can connect to the OCPP WebSocket endpoint using a known or discovered charging station identifier, then issue or receive OCPP commands as a legitimate charger. Given that no authentication is required, this can lead to privilege escalation, unauthorized control of charging infrastructure, and corruption of charging network data reported to the backend.
The weakness was disclosed by Khaled Sarieddine and Mohammad Ali Sayed. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-24731 since 02/24/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 03/06/2026).
