A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in GGCMS 1.1.0 Rc1. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the file admin/subpages.php. The manipulation of the argument subpageName with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in admin/subpages.php in GGCMS 1.1.0 RC1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary PHP code into arbitrary files via ".." sequences in the subpageName parameter, as demonstrated by injecting PHP code into a template file.
The weakness was presented 02/05/2007 by Kacper (Website). The advisory is shared for download at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-0804 since 02/07/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.
