Details
A vulnerability has been found in caddyserver caddy and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function copy_headers of the component forward_auth. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Caddy is an extensible server platform that uses TLS by default. From version 2.10.0 to before version 2.11.2, forward_auth copy_headers does not strip client-supplied headers, allowing identity injection and privilege escalation. This issue has been patched in version 2.11.2.
