A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Kovah LinkAce up to 2.0.0. Affected is the function LinkRepository::create of the file /links. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. LinkAce is a self-hosted archive to collect website links. When a user creates a link via POST /links, the server fetches HTML metadata from the provided URL (LinkRepository::create() calls HtmlMeta::getFromUrl()). The LinkStoreRequest validation rules do not include NoPrivateIpRule, allowing server-side requests to internal network addresses, Docker service hostnames, and cloud metadata endpoints. The project already has a NoPrivateIpRule class (app/Rules/NoPrivateIpRule.php) but it is only applied in FetchController.php (line 99), not in the primary link creation path.
