Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Traefik up to 3.6.9. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component Query Parameter Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Traefik is an HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer. Prior to 3.6.10, A tenant with write access to an HTTPRoute resource can inject backtick-delimited rule tokens into Traefik's router rule language via unsanitized header or query parameter match values. In shared gateway deployments, this can bypass listener hostname constraints and redirect traffic for victim hostnames to attacker-controlled backends. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.10.
It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-29777 since 03/04/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy.
