Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in sveltejs devalue up to 5.6.3. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a prototype pollution vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-1321. The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:

Svelte devalue is a JavaScript library that serializes values into strings when JSON.stringify isn't sufficient for the job. In devalue v5.6.3 and earlier, devalue.parse and devalue.unflatten were susceptible to prototype pollution via maliciously crafted payloads. Successful exploitation could lead to Denial of Service (DoS) or type confusion. This vulnerability is fixed in 5.6.4.

The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-30226 since 03/04/2026. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely.
