Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in eWON Firmware up to 12.2/13.0. This issue affects an unknown part of the file /wrcgi.bin/wsdReadForm. The manipulation of the argument wsdList with an unknown input leads to a hard-coded credentials vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-798. The product contains hard-coded credentials, such as a password or cryptographic key, which it uses for its own inbound authentication, outbound communication to external components, or encryption of internal data. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
eWON Firmware versions 12.2 to 13.0 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows attackers with minimal privileges to retrieve sensitive user data by exploiting the wsdReadForm endpoint. Attackers can send POST requests to /wrcgi.bin/wsdReadForm with base64-encoded partial credentials and a crafted wsdList parameter to extract encrypted passwords for all users, which can be decrypted using a hardcoded XOR key.
