A vulnerability was found in WebTester 5.0 2006-09-27. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file directions.php. The manipulation of the argument testID with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in WebTester 5.0.20060927 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the testID parameter to directions.php, and unspecified parameters to other files that accept GET or POST input.
The weakness was disclosed 02/14/2007 (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-0970 since 02/15/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy.
