A vulnerability was found in SiYuan up to 3.5.x and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file /api/network/forwardProxy of the component Endpoint. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.6.0, the /api/network/forwardProxy endpoint allows authenticated users to make arbitrary HTTP requests from the server. The endpoint accepts a user-controlled URL and makes HTTP requests to it, returning the full response body and headers. There is no URL validation to prevent requests to internal networks, localhost, or cloud metadata services. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.0.
