Details
A vulnerability was found in capnproto Capn Proto up to 1.3.x. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is some unknown functionality of the component HTTP Request Handler. The manipulation of the argument Length with an unknown input leads to a request smuggling vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-444. The product acts as an intermediary HTTP agent
(such as a proxy or firewall) in the data flow between two
entities such as a client and server, but it does not
interpret malformed HTTP requests or responses in ways that
are consistent with how the messages will be processed by
those entities that are at the ultimate destination. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Cap'n Proto is a data interchange format and capability-based RPC system. Prior to 1.4.0, a negative Content-Length value was converted to unsigned, treating it as an impossibly large length instead. In theory, this bug could enable HTTP request/response smuggling. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.0.
