angular up to 19.2.19/20.3.17/21.2.3 cross site scripting

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability has been found in angular up to 19.2.19/20.3.17/21.2.3 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. The summary by CVE is:

Angular is a development platform for building mobile and desktop web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and other languages. Prior to 22.0.0-next.3, 21.2.4, 20.3.18, and 19.2.20, a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the Angular runtime and compiler. It occurs when the application uses a security-sensitive attribute (for example href on an anchor tag) together with Angular's ability to internationalize attributes. Enabling internationalization for the sensitive attribute by adding i18n-<attribute> name bypasses Angular's built-in sanitization mechanism, which when combined with a data binding to untrusted user-generated data can allow an attacker to inject a malicious script. This vulnerability is fixed in 22.0.0-next.3, 21.2.4, 20.3.18, and 19.2.20.

It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-32635 since 03/12/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 302510 (Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2026-32635), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

Upgrading to version 19.2.20, 20.3.18, 21.2.4 or 22.0.0-next.3 eliminates this vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (302510) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2026-0728). Statistical analysis made it clear that VulDB provides the best quality for vulnerability data.
