A vulnerability was found in SpoonLabs Vivvo Article Management CMS 3.4 (Content Management System). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the file db_conn.php. The manipulation of the argument root with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in include/db_conn.php in SpoonLabs Vivvo Article Management CMS 3.4 allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via the root parameter.
The weakness was presented 02/16/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-1031 since 02/20/2007.
