Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in ZwickRoell Test Data Management up to 3.0.7. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file /server/node_upgrade_srv.js. The manipulation of the argument firmware with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
ZwickRoell Test Data Management versions prior to 3.0.8 contain a local file inclusion (LFI) vulnerability in the /server/node_upgrade_srv.js endpoint. An unauthenticated attacker can supply directory traversal sequences via the firmware parameter to access arbitrary files on the server, leading to information disclosure of sensitive system files.
The weakness was shared by Arun Pratap Singh and Mayuresh Dani. The advisory is available at zwickroell.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-29522 since 03/04/2026.
