An authorization bypass vulnerability in the Vault secrets back-end implementation of Juju versions 3.1.6 through 3.6.18 allows an authenticated unit agent to perform unauthorized updates to secret revisions. With sufficient information, an attacker can poison any existing secret revision within the scope of that Vault secret back-end.
The weakness was disclosed by Harry Pidcock as GHSA-89x7-5m5m-mcmm. The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-32692 since 03/13/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1548.002.
Upgrading to version 3.6.19 eliminates this vulnerability.
