A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in OpenClaw up to 2026.3.0. This affects the function web_search of the component Network Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. OpenClaw versions prior to 2026.3.1 contain a server-side request forgery vulnerability in web_search citation redirect resolution that uses a private-network-allowing SSRF policy. An attacker who can influence citation redirect targets can trigger internal-network requests from the OpenClaw host to loopback, private, or internal destinations.
