Details
A vulnerability classified as very critical was found in Kubernetes up to 1.13.8/1.14.4/1.15.0. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component ingress-nginx. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A security issue was discovered in ingress-nginx where a combination of Ingress annotations can be used to inject configuration into nginx. This can lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the ingress-nginx controller, and disclosure of Secrets accessible to the controller. (Note that in the default installation, the controller can access all Secrets cluster-wide.)
The weakness was presented by wooseokdotkim as 137893. The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-4342 since 03/17/2026.
