A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in eFiction 3.1.1. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file bridges/SMF/logout.php. The manipulation of the argument path_to_smf with an unknown input leads to a file inclusion vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-73. Multiple PHP remote file inclusion vulnerabilities in eFiction 3.1.1 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the path_to_smf parameter to (1) bridges/SMF/logout.php or (2) get_session_vars.php.
The weakness was disclosed 02/22/2007 by ThE dE@Th (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-1118 since 02/26/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
A public exploit has been developed by ThE dE@Th and been published before and not just after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:bridges/SMF/logout.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
