A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (Web Browser). This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality in the library mshtml.dll. Microsoft Internet Explorer allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via an IFRAME with a certain XML file and XSL stylesheet that triggers a crash in mshtml.dll when a refresh is called, probably a null pointer dereference.
The issue has been introduced in 03/22/2001. The weakness was shared 03/02/2007 by Thomas Pollet (Website). The advisory is available at www3.ca.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-7065 since 02/27/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
