CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in WWBN AVideo up to 26.0. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function Plugin::getDatabaseFileName of the file objects/pluginRunDatabaseScript.json.php of the component Parameter Handler. The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions up to and including 26.0, the `objects/pluginRunDatabaseScript.json.php` endpoint accepts a `name` parameter via POST and passes it to `Plugin::getDatabaseFileName()` without any path traversal sanitization. This allows an authenticated admin (or an attacker via CSRF) to traverse outside the plugin directory and execute the contents of any `install/install.sql` file on the filesystem as raw SQL queries against the application database. Commit 81b591c509835505cb9f298aa1162ac64c4152cb contains a patch.

The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-33681 since 03/23/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are necessary for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
