Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in StellarWP LearnDash LMS Plugin up to 5.0.3 on WordPress. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the component AJAX Action Handler. The manipulation of the argument filters[orderby_order] with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

The LearnDash LMS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to blind time-based SQL Injection via the 'filters[orderby_order]' parameter in the 'learndash_propanel_template' AJAX action in all versions up to, and including, 5.0.3. This is due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.

The weakness was published by Osvaldo Noe Gonzalez Del Rio. The advisory is shared at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-3079 since 02/23/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 03/28/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at EUVD (EUVD-2026-14691). Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
