Details
A vulnerability was found in OpenCart Core up to 4.0.2.3. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component Product Search Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument search with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
OpenCart Core 4.0.2.3 contains a SQL injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate database queries by injecting SQL code through the 'search' parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to the product search endpoint with malicious 'search' values to extract sensitive database information using boolean-based blind or time-based blind SQL injection techniques.
