A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in BSQ Sitestats on Joomla (Joomla Component). Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file ip-to-country.csv. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in BSQ Sitestats (component for Joomla) 1.8.0, and possibly other versions before 2.2.1, allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via (1) unspecified parameters when importing the (a) ip-to-country.csv file; and the (2) HTTP Referer, (3) HTTP User Agent, and (4) HTTP Accept Language headers to (b) bsqtemplateinc.php.
The weakness was released 03/05/2007 by Sven Krewitt with Secunia Research as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-7123 since 03/05/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
