Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Joomla BSQ Sitestats 1.8.0 and 2.2.1 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the HTTP Referer header, which is not properly handled when the administrator views site statistics.
The weakness was presented 03/05/2007 by Sven Krewitt with Secunia Research as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-7125 since 03/05/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
