Details
A vulnerability was found in dgtlmoon changedetection.io up to 0.54.6. It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function json-doc of the component SafeXPath3Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a incomplete blacklist vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-184. The product implements a protection mechanism that relies on a list of inputs (or properties of inputs) that are not allowed by policy or otherwise require other action to neutralize before additional processing takes place, but the list is incomplete, leading to resultant weaknesses. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
ChangeDetection.io versions prior to 0.54.7 contain a protection bypass vulnerability in the SafeXPath3Parser implementation that allows attackers to read arbitrary local files by using unblocked XPath 3.0/3.1 functions such as json-doc() and similar file-access primitives. Attackers can exploit the incomplete blocklist of dangerous XPath functions to access sensitive data from the local filesystem.
The weakness was published by Neo. The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-35000 since 03/31/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1562.006 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
