Unspecified vulnerability in Apple QuickTime before 7.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application termination) and execute arbitrary code via a crafted Sorenson 3 video file, which triggers memory corruption.
The bug was discovered 01/15/2008. The weakness was released 01/16/2008 by Chris Ries with Carnegie Mellon (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at docs.info.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-0031 since 01/03/2008. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
